As an artist I spend a lot of time alone in my studio, with my own thoughts and emotions. Sometimes my thoughts and emotions get the better of me. My cat's always seems to know when this happens and walks into my view, grabbing my attention and reminding me to get out of my head and notice my environment :) Once I do this they scurry off to continue with their own lives. I feel we can have empathy with any animal, even though we are classified mamals.
